CDA Design Awards 2020
The Creative Design Awards (CDA) aims to promote designers and good designs, show the value of design, and promote Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand (“Lanna region”). The CDA has been organized since 2012. The theme for 2020 is “new local”. With the theme “new local”, the CDA 2020 encourages designers to be authentic while reinventing and reimagining their locally inspired designs for contemporary use and living and share their stories with wider markets and new customer segments. The CDA 2020 now covers eight provinces in Norther Thailand.
The CDA 2020 is a collaboration of Creative Lanna, Creative Chiang Mai, Science and Technology Park Chiang Mai University (STeP), and other organizations that want to support and promote creative and innovative design.

On 7 December 2020, Creative Chiang Mai organized the CDA Design Awards 2020 at the Lanna Architecture Center. The event ceremony and exhibition were opened by Mr. Samroeng Chaiyasen, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province. Other special guests included Mr. Tassanai Buranupakorn, Mayor of Chiang Mai, the award judges and advisors, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ekkachai Mahaeka, CMU Vice-President Creative Lanna Strategy, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanyanuparb Anantana, Director of Science and Technology Park, Chiang Mai University. In total 27 designs across seven categories were awarded.
